I taught a Yoga class the other day, reflecting. I started to realize that in all of my work I’m supporting people, to be in their body, to be in the now, to show up in truth, to tell it like it is, in all places. I see the support of the Yoga in the photo sessions, I see the support of my empowerment towards other women.

I witness how the chain of inspiration has been formed. I witness my comfort in my femininity + skin reflect onto others.

The way I’ve been empowered by the women before me, + how I am empowering those after me. To tell the truth on the podcast, to live in full honouring of their story. My teaching of the lineage of Yoga intertwines, + roots itself deep in everything we do here. I see the empowerment of presence + acceptance come through in the photos. I see it come through in people who I haven’t even worked with. Just those I’m connected to, following me + following them. Seeing how my work, mindset, changes, have made others better. The way their work, mindset, changes, have made me better.

I also realized that it all fitting together was a binding capitalistic view, + didn’t allow for flow. I will always be on the side of the rights of the people, not on the side of money. The niche is out. The deeply rooted, healed, feeling into, + leading with your intuition from the intersection between your fervency + the softness of your femininity is where it’s always been.

I witness women removing their clothing, being open, + rooted strongly in who they are. Ready for vulnerability + next stage initiation.

We are not in business, we are in busy-ness, we are in trade, in sharing, in offering, in betterment, in earth body experience, in joke, in fear, in story.

A meditative photography day retreat hosted on the Nectar Yoga grounds

I’ve noticed in my work in the embodiment + spiritual space that I’m always trying to lift your societal constructs of the self, expectations, + allow you to see the world as if for the first time. This has allowed the sessions to be expansive, unique, + nourishing to your soul. The photography sessions allow you to go inward.

When I set out to create this offering, I knew that that I had to bring in the softening aspects I find with clients during photography session as a result of my experience in the Yoga teaching space.

What to Expect:
A portrait of you taken both at the beginning and end of the day retreat
Self-Exploration: A chance to examine your own inner world, remove Samskaras (mental filters), + reconnect with your authentic self
Movement & Meditation: Gentle practices to embody the present moment and allow for deep self-expression.
Creative Space: Time to explore the grounds, take photos, + engage in intimate discussions about your discoveries.
Meditative Photography: Learn how to capture light, experiment with your camera, + embrace the freedom of breaking traditional creative rules.
Food provided: Enjoy gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, + peanut-free options. Please feel free to bring your own food as well to make sure you’re well nourished for the day. Fridge available on Nectar grounds.

Event Schedule:
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Introductions + first portrait
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Deep Meditation + gentle moving meditation
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Outdoor Exploration - sit with yourself, witness the world with a fresh lens, take photos, or chat with Whitney
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM: Food Break - food curated by Whitney
4:30 PM - 5:30 PM: Group sharing in the dome - discuss your insights and creative breakthroughs
5:30 PM - 6:00 PM: Closing the container + final portrait
6:15 PM - 8:15 PM (optional): Beach breath work + your own 15-minute Embodied Photo Session taken by Whitney

Hosting 2 photography events:
Chilliwack Saturday June 28th + Vancouver Saturday July 26th
6 pm-whenever!
Locations shared as we get closer to
Bring whoever you’d like for an evening of food, non-alcohol drink, + connection! I will be curating the food for this event. All will be gluten free, vegetarian, + peanut free.

This event requires a group of 5-7 people to arrive at 5 pm for a group photography session to capture creative visions I have. 15 minute session gifted to those who were in the group photo session.
To those joining afterwards 15 minute sessions offered on sliding scale $50-100+
This time can be used for portraits you may need, Yoga poses, or quick captures of something you’ve been wanting to express. You can attend if you don’t want your photo taken.

Earth daughters June 20-23rd
I will be attending this women’s festival in Golden, B.C. + hosting sliding scale photo sessions!

30 minute session will gift all proceeds to The Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre supporting women fleeing domestic violence, providing housing, and food to women + children.
30 minute sessions on sliding scale $20-whatever is accessible

1 hour session, 50% of proceeds gifted to DEWC on sliding scale $100+

Island travels!
I will be in Ucluelet in both July and August
Selling photography prints at the Ukee market on July 13th + August 17th. (We’re waiting to hear back for the one on July 13th, but either way we will be in Ukee)

Our wonderful @angelicacamillo_ and I will be connecting with others, sharing in community, + selling our photo prints!

Some of our prints gift 50% of proceeds to earth rangers, an environmentally focused non-profit for children. They support environmental knowledge and programs for children, and host beach clean ups, support for animals, and educate children on energy use at home + reducing food waste.
